    The Psychology Department at Emmanuel College invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical or Counseling Psychology beginning in the fall of 2017. The position carries the following expectations: teaching three courses per semester, maintaining an active research lab in which undergraduates could be mentored, advising undergraduate psychology majors, and a commitment to departmental and institutional service.

    Candidates should have a doctorate at the time of appointment and experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Ideal candidates would be able to teach undergraduate courses such as child or adult psychopathology, counseling theories and techniques, internship in psychology, research methods and statistics, and general psychology. Experience supervising undergraduate clinical internship students, clinical licensure, and/or ABA certification are preferred, but not required.

    Goucher College’s Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Psychology with a specialty in Human Neuroscience, to start Fall 2016. We especially encourage candidates with expertise and interest in Positive Neuroscience, Social Neuroscience, Affective Neuroscience, and/or Developmental Neuroscience. We are looking for a colleague who will complement and extend existing departmental faculty expertise, and who possesses a critical orientation to psychology, an interest in applying psychology to social justice issues, and experience working with culturally diverse student populations.
    Teaching is at the heart of our mission, and we are committed to building student-mentoring relationships, as well as helping students develop resilience and encouraging them to reflect on their individual learning experiences as the basic building blocks for a lifetime of success. We seek a colleague with a commitment to this kind of student mentoring, ongoing scholarly research, and service to the department, the college, and the liberal arts.     The Psychology Department currently operates on a 2:2(1) course load. The “(1)” holds the space for intensive mentoring of undergraduates on a research team throughout the academic year. The “2:2” includes one service course (i.e., Introduction to Psychology, Statistical Methods in Psychology, or Quantitative Research Methods in Psychology), one intermediate level course within the colleague’s area of expertise, one intermediate course on physiological psychology, and one advanced seminar course within the colleague’s area of expertise.

    The position requires the completion of a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field before the time of appointment. Goucher College supports faculty development through junior sabbaticals, start-up research funds, and internal research grants.

  3. The Department of Psychology at Skidmore College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Psychology at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning Fall 2015. The position is open and applications are invited from all areas of specialization; we are especially interested in candidates with scholarship/teaching related to diversity or cross-cultural issues. The faculty member in this position will teach core courses (e.g., research methods) and courses in the area of expertise, and will supervise undergraduate research. Within the context of a five-course teaching load, the position also occasionally includes teaching a first-year interdisciplinary seminar (topic open).

    Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience who have a Ph.D. in psychology or, if ABD, will complete the Ph.D. by Fall 2015, and who have potential to develop a significant research program in psychology.
