  1. Amherst College: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, Adult Clinical Psychology

    The Department of Psychology at Amherst College invites applications for a tenure-track position in clinical psychology at the rank of assistant professor. Given Amherst’s commitment to fostering an intellectually challenging and inclusive educational environment, our expectation is that the successful candidate will demonstrate competence and sensitivity in teaching and mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, ability, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. Candidates are also asked to arrange for three confidential letters of recommendation to be submitted. We are seeking an individual who has completed the dissertation for the Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a research program that focuses on emerging adulthood or adult clinical psychology. The individual must have a Ph.D. in hand or have fulfilled all requirements for the degree by the start of the appointment. Responsibilities include establishing an active program of research and publication, teaching two courses per semester, and supervising senior honors research projects. The successful candidate will be able to develop a repertoire of courses including introductory psychology, abnormal psychology, research methods or a clinical lab class, and an advanced seminar. The position does not include clinical practice and licensure is not required. Applications received by October 1, 2019, will be assured of full consideration.
